Web areas you should go to.

Here are some really quite good web areas you should visit. Most of them are design related but they're all related to awesome, so go look at them.

FFFFOUND! - FFFFOUND! is a web service that allows users to post and share their favorite images found on the web. The site has a huge number of registered users so is updated extremely often, and often inspirational for my own work. Those of you familiar with 4chan, imagine that, but more epic awesome design images, and less sweaty, basement computer nerds.

Abduzeedo - An art blog of Fabio Sasso, a Brazilian graphic designer. The blog is comprised of his ideas, experiments, news, works and tutorials, as well as links to other design areas on the web things of general interest[non-design related]. I found the site when looking for Photoshop Tutorials, which have been very useful in my work, and side projects. Pretty simple and easy to follow. Siiiiiimple.

Signal Noise - Another art blog of the works of James White, a mixed-media artist and graphic designer from Halifax, Canada. He blogs works from his own portfolio, as well as links to blogs and sites of other graphic designers around the world.

Hot Chip - Ready for the floor

'Ready for the Floor' is the second single off Hot Chip's 2008 album 'Made in the Dark'. This video, directed by Nima Nourizadeh. Hot Chip are a crazy as nerd-electro math-rock band with a unique sound. Really good music, and even better live. Buy, download, beg, borrow or steal to obtain this (and previous) albums. Meeeeeeeean.

Digg - Digg describe themselves is
place for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the web. From the biggest online destinations to the most obscure blog, Digg surfaces the best stuff as voted on by our users.
I describe them as freakin' sweet. Anything and everything awesome on the internet that day is on Digg. Go. Browse. Procrastinate.

First Task: Project Analysis

Landscapes are of immense cultural, spiritual, aesthetic and economic value. They involve the physical, living, abstract and human elements of an exterior space, ‘more that just plants’. This was driving idea behind my final project for DESN111: Th’ Clip. For this project we were challenged to create film clip about a chosen field of the Design course at Victoria. We [James Russell and myself] undertook to create a film about Landscape Architecture, attempting to abolish any misconceptions about this field. I believe the project was successful in providing an alternative view and dealt with the film making aspects of the project in innovative ways. The clip is comprised entirely of still images, embracing the brief and bringing a modern, edgy style to it.

My clip can be viewed below. The music is "4 to the Floor"by Christchurch band, Bang! Bang! Eche!
